Local Employment Opportunities
Common Purpose Director
Donovan began his retail career as a Store Management Intern with Kohl’s Department Stores while earning his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. He went on to hold various store management roles for Kohl’s for 9+ years. In 2018, Donovan chased a dream and joined DICK’S Sporting Goods as a Store Manager. As a child, he was an avid baseball and basketball player and knows firsthand the impact that sports have on our youth. The opportunity to work with teammates at DSG to improve our communities through sport is truly a dream come true.
Community Integration Director
Prior to joining DICK’S Sporting Goods, Kenley worked at Scripps Networks Interactive/HGTV for over 16 years, most recently managing the network’s experiential marketing strategy. Kenley holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee. She is a native of Knoxville and, yes, her blood bleeds orange. Outside of work, she is a board member and class volunteer for Humans and Animals Learning Together, a local non-profit that works with at-risk teens and dogs.
Test & Learn Manager
Carole worked at Best Buy for 17+ years prior to coming to DSG. She worked in several stores executing various roles, such as Assistant Store Manager, Specialty Store General Manager, Specialty Store District Trainer and District Chief Financial Officer, to name a few. As a Specialty Store GM and District Chief Financial Officer, Carole was responsible for innovating, developing and testing new strategies to drive profitability, customer loyalty and employee engagement throughout her district and territory.
Assistant Manager Apparel
April has over 20 years of retail experience, primarily in specialty/luxury retail. Prior to coming to House of Sport, she was the Store Manager for the Michael Kors in Sevierville, TN. April's proudest accomplishment while working there during her six-year term, was getting the store approved for an expansion based on the incredible business that they were running. She spent a lot of time developing talent and was able to promote numerous leaders into management roles.
Service and Selling Director
Nate started his Retail Management career with Walmart in 2004 as a Fresh Market Manager. In 2006, he was asked to join Lowe’s as a Loss Prevention and Safety Manager. He was later promoted to Assistant Store Manager in 2007 then promoted to a Lowe’s Store Manager in 2009. In 2016, Nate was promoted to District Leader for Lowe’s then started his DSG journey in December 2018 as a Store Manager. Nate has most recently accepted the role as the Service and Selling Director at Knoxville's House of Sport in May 2021.
Assistant Manager Operations
Brandon started his DSG journey in the summer of 2009 as a footwear teammate. After learning the technical aspects of footwear and becoming the running specialist, he was promoted to the apparel department, where he worked as a Nike Brand Coordinator, Blue Chip UA scout and Apparel Lead. Since being promoted to Assistant Store manager, Brandon has worked in several stores and in numerous positions. Brandon is an energetic coach with a passion for people, people development and creating opportunity.
Margo comes from a background of sports events and hospitality. Her prior position was Events Sales Manager with the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia. She was able to be an integral part of events such as SEC media days, Chick-fila-A Peach Bowl, SEC Championship weekend, ESPN College Football Awards Show and more. She is a journalism graduate from the University of Tennessee and is a Vol for Life. Outside of the office, she serves on several local boards and has a passion for community involvement.
Marketing & Communications Manager
After graduating from the University of Tennessee, Mikia started her Marketing career with IMG College/The Vol Network. She was a part of corporate and fan gameday experience for UT Athletics for six years before moving into a Marketing, PR and Social Media role at Altar’d State. Mikia has always had a passion for sports and shopping. Having these two worlds collide via DICK’S House of Sport is a dream come true for her.
Community Relations Manager
After graduating from the University of Tennessee, Casey enjoyed a fun career as a local radio personality in Knoxville. He left radio to accept a position at Scripps Networks, which eventually became Discovery Inc. He spent most of the past twelve years at Discovery as the Marketing Strategies Manager for HGTV and Food Network. He's thrilled to be joining the DSG team and insists that "fourteen-year-old Casey would be so impressed!"
Sr. Administrative Assistant
Charli currently serves in the United States Air Force working with hundreds of military members, including Aircrew, as well as being multiple commanders’ point of contact for Human Resource and Administrative Management. After graduating with honors from Montana State University in 2018, she opened her own interior design company and now serves clients throughout California, Montana and Tennessee. Charli continued her education and graduated from University of Maryland in 2019, where she earned her second degree in Human Resource Management. Charli is grateful for challenge, adventure and embracing the experiences of life.
PGA Golf Professional
Glenn has been a PGA professional tournament player for twenty-five years, a PGA member since 2013, and he currently serves as the Tennessee Tournament Committee Chairman. An accomplished professional, he was awarded the 2016 Tennessee Player of the Year as well as the 2020 Golf Professional of the Year from the PGA's Knoxville chapter. Due to his tremendous passion and appreciation for all aspects of the game, Glenn also has an extensive background in both club fitting and teaching to go alongside his playing career. His ultimate goal is to use his golf knowledge and experience to help grow and improve the game for all golfers, whether professional, amateur or beginner.
